The event was hosted by @arjunmanjunath_, the @gatewayclipper and Red Bull as an opportunity to experience new things in Pittsburgh and meet new people. I’ve grown to really like these events as they are a welcoming opportunity to see Pittsburgh. This was my first time on the Gateway Clipper in 20 years and I don’t know why I haven’t gone on again sooner. You get to see the bridges, buildings and landmarks of Pittsburgh from the Three Rivers. Bucket list concert! I can't believe @oasis finall Bucket list concert! I can't believe @oasis finally got back together. I have been a big fan of Oasis since I was a kid so I knew if they ever got back together I'd have to go. The Gallagher Brothers are notorious for not getting along but they put those differences aside for one of the best concerts I've attended. They were so well polished knowing they were playing stadiums. They played most of the hits from the first two biggest albums. It was like a 2 hour sing along.

Because Pennsylvania has important Supreme Court Elections this November 4th!

Even though 2025 is what is known as an off-cycle election year, every year there are important state and local elections, which help shape the government where you live.

This year's election is quite an important one as Pennsylvania has a PA Supreme Court justice retention vote on the ballot.

Unlike at the national level where Supreme Court Justices are appointed for life, Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justices are only elected for a period of 10 years. At the end of their term, we have a YES or NO retention vote on whether we, the voters, want them to stay for another term. In 2025, we have three justices up for a retention vote! These justices are not in a head to head election, but just trying to retain their seat.

Why is this important? PA Supreme Court Justices interpret the state constitution, which is why they have a huge impact on the rights and freedoms. This means they could make decisions on issues you care about like abortion rights, corporate accountability, workers’ rights, fair voting and elections, environmental protections, public education, health care access, and LGBTQ rights.

If you want have a say and vote on November 4th, make sure you're registered to vote in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, check out the Justices and where they stand on the issues, and then vote on November 4th!

You can check your voting registration or, if new to voting, register to vote at https://vote.pa/plan/

8 Years of AlexEatsTooMuch! Time flies as I'm eati 8 Years of AlexEatsTooMuch!
Time flies as I'm eating my way through Pittsburgh and traveling around to experience attractions and foods beyond Pittsburgh. This past year you've probably seen me adding a lot more travel content to AlexEatsTooMuch. I went to a few Pennsylvania locations and I spent time in South Carolina, Las Vegas and New Orleans. Hopefully in this next year you're gonna see a lot of really cool stuff from me starting very soon.

I'm still so thankful for all of you that have decided to follow me. Some of you are still here from the beginning and I have loved interacting and eating with so many of you. Many of you might have just discovered my eating adventure and I hope to run into some day. Many of you have supported this sometimes crazy endeavour in one way or another whether it was sharing my page, feeding me, inviting me to events or just following along. I appreciate the continued support. Thank you so much! Here's to another year of eating good food!

I have not done an intro post in awhile either. Here's some about me!

I'm Alex. I'm in my late 30s and single. I moved to Pittsburgh 16 years ago for work after finishing college at Penn State. I've always been known for eating too much. When I'm not eating, I'm usually watching movies or TV, going to concerts, dreaming about cars I can't afford, quoting The Simpsons and getting strange looks, and in warmer months watching the Pirates lose and spending some time outdoors hiking and camping, which I have barely done this year. I have a pretty extensive About Me section on the website, which I still haven't updated since the last time I said I needed to really update it. Also, I'm pretty internet stalkable with minimal effort.
I have been meaning to try @coldfriendskitchen for I have been meaning to try @coldfriendskitchen for a while and I’m glad I finally did. They are one of our vendors at @baconburghfest on September 27 and they definitely deserve to be since they might have the best Pork Belly in Pittsburgh. Their Pork Belly Bites blew me away. They are thick chunks of double cooked pork belly that were so tender and delicious with a sweet glaze and a fire sauce. I got a peek at some of their other items too. I know I need to try one of their smash burgers and the mac and cheese. This was one of the few restaurants I’ve seen people come back up after eating to tell them it was the best they have ever had. They are incredibly proud of the food they are making and their great reviews. Check them out at their normal locations and BaconBurgh.

Would you believe these are all mocktails?!?! I at Would you believe these are all mocktails?!?! I attended the first ever @teetotal_initiative Mocktai Mixer. They are a Pittsburgh-based 501(c)3 non-profit that offers sober-focused programming that addresses some of the most common causes of relapse - isolation, boredom, and loneliness. This first of its kind event featured over 20 local businesses making mocktails to sample. I was blown away by some which were using non-alcohol spirits to retain the flavors of some of the beverages they were inspired by. Other amazing drinks had creative ingredients to create something totally new. Although I'm not a teetotaler, I respect their mission and think it's amazing they offering great programming like this.
