So maybe I actually ate this @thevandalpgh & @alleghenyeats Fried Chicken Sandwich on Thursday. I participated in the first meal kit pickup for Allegheny Eats. This is a new program in whick by ordering a meal kit from local participating restaurants you also help support restaurant workers, restaurants and local farms during these times filled with shut downs. Meal kits can be ordered until midnight Tuesday for pickup Thursday. Industry members in need can order $0 meals for pickups on Wednesday. I was very happy to try out The Vandal fried chicken sandwich, which comes in separate packages and then you assemble at home. I like the thick breading on the chicken combined with the sweet hot honey. The kit came this time with chocolate chip cookies that were unbelievable!

Expanding on my partnership with @dive_pgh, I got this tasty Buffalo Chicken Quesadilla to snack on while watching some TV. These taste great, travel well as takeout, and look pretty good if you decide to put it on a plate when you get home. Plates aren't really required. Eating right from the container is ok too!

I partnered with @dive_pgh over the holidays to try out some cool items on their menu. I have a goal to try to work in more salads again this year and they have fantastic Chopped Chicken Salad I got for lunch with lots of fried chicken and avocado. The best way to eat something healthy like veggies is to add something delicious like fried food.

One good thing to come out of 2021 so far is the return of the @bluesparrowpgh Ramen Burger after a long absence from their menu. This is by far my favorite non-traditional burger. It's a ground pork patty with a soft ramen bun. It's quite a different experience to eat especially with that ramen bun. I also got the monster pizza with pork and kimchi and the thai basil brownie. This made it well rounded meal of different flavors. Blue Sparrow isn't running their truck for the winter, but you can order out of their kitchen on Saturdays. #mypghtakeout
𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗱!
This morning I made myself a sausage, eggs and cheese breakfast burrito with peppers and onions. It was delicious and I'm so full but I need practice. I don't make many burritos but I just bought a pack of tortillas so I guess I'll be making quite a few in the next few weeks.

I have been really wanting to get food and drinks from @thewarrenpgh & @penncovebottleshop and decided my birthday would be a great day to do it. The Warren and Penn Cove have some of the best sushi and some of the best cocktails in Pittsburgh. The Warren has also been awesome for a second time this year providing dinners to Restaurant Workers who might not be able to afford a meal right now. Along with my dinner I provided a donation. This is the type of business and other businesses which sponsored these dinners are the businesses that really deserve our patronage during these still uncertain times. I'm glad to have been able to order from them and cannot wait to regularly sit at the The Warren bar again.

I also decided to delay my birthday dinner after Wednesday's awful events. It was difficult to watch an insurrection and still want to really celebrate my birthday. It didn't feel right posting about food while people are "tried" to "overthrow" the government. It is sickening to see this country become so divided and lead to these events. I truly hope people who have been just going along with those that are pushing conspiracy theories as fact will begin to start looking at things a little more rationally.

Today I used a London Broil that has been in my freezer a while since a Giant Eagle BoGo sale. I put it in a sous vide bath for 8 hours then finished it off in the skillet. One of the nice things about cooking a London Broil using a circulator is it allows a piece of beef that might not be the most tender to soften up and remain juicy.

At home, in sweatpants, eating pizza and wings from @pizzeriadavide on the couch. This time I got the Lebanon & Pepper Relish Pizza & garlic and parmesan wings. The pizza was delicious but those wings were freaking incredible

I was originally planning to put on a tux jacket and do a fancy looking photo celebrating NYE, but that's not the staged crap I like to post. I like to post ridiculous staged crap like me on the couch. The difference is when done with the photo I just went back to the couch. I know most of us are probably celebrating NYE in similar ways on the couch tonight. It's not what most of us wanted or intended, but hopefully next year we can all get dressed all fancy and have ridiculous NYE parties again

I might be a little late but my Jewish Christmas dinner this year happened on Boxing Day. I picked up some General Tso's Chicken, Barbecue Spare Ribs and a chicken egg roll from Chinatown Inn. The one piece of broccoli makes it healthy.

I've been wanting one of these @pizzeriadavide Philly Cheesesteaks for awhile now. After eating it, I think it might be the best cheesesteak I've eaten in Pittsburgh in over a decade of living here. In the last week multiple people posted one talking about how it's so good. Pizzeria Davide even called me out in the comments for not eating it yet. I know exactly why it has taken me this long to order it though. Because pizza. #mypghtakeout
