I just had an incredible week in @visitnovascotia I just had an incredible week in @visitnovascotia attending @devour_fest! #partner Devour! The Food Film Fest is a week of films, food, workshops and events in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Canada. This year's theme was Devour the Sea! It was an amazing experience eating so much fresh seafood, dishes prepared by world class chefs, attending cooking workshops, exploring the town of Wolfville and the Annapolis Valley, and of course watching many films and shorts. The festival happens in the fall every year and with the visit for the lover of food and film. I have so much more to share from this trip, the meals and Devour! over the course of the next few months, so stay tuned. Thank you to Tourism Nova Scotia & Devour! for such a great week. #compellingnovascotia #visitnovascotia

Pittsburgh has a new state-of-the-art concert venu Pittsburgh has a new state-of-the-art concert venue, and I partnered with @citizenswylie to check out the Vinyl Room, a premium lounge, followed by an evening of soulful R&B from the legendary 90s group Boyz II Men. The Vinyl Room is a premium lounge modeled after Japanese listening lounges and a tribute to the analog era. The Vinyl Room is a private bar available to anyone as an upgrade and to Premium Experience members. They have Asian fusion-inspired food and beverages on the menu. There is a DJ spinning vinyl records. There's a local vinyl record collection adorning the walls. I can't wait to go back to Citizens Live at The Wylie for another show, and some bites to eat at the Vinyl Room. Drinks: • Life on Mars (Cocktail & NA Versions) • The Harder They Ball • Strawberry Moon Food: • Cucumber Salad • Chili Crunch Chicken Wings • Fried Gyoza • Wagyu Beef & Truffle Burger • Taiyaki 📍Citizens Live at The Wylie 1201 Wylie Ave Pittsburgh, PA 15219 #partner #ad
Colonial Williamsburg experience I was most excite Colonial Williamsburg experience I was most excited about as a foodie: the Governor’s Palace Cooks’ Kitchen. I partnered with @visitwilliamsburg to check it out. @colonialwmsburg historical interpreters spend their day cooking the foods that would be common for a multi-course supper at the Governor’s Palace in the 1700s. They prepare foods in the same fashion using the recipes and equipment belonging to that era. They will still use locally grown and raised produce and livestock. All the food prepared is for display only, allowing visitors to see the dishes throughout the day. The Governor’s Palace Cook demonstration is available on select days as part of the ticketed Colonial Williamsburg experience. Thank you to Visit Williamsburg, Colonial Williamsburg, and Abby and Chris, the cooks at the Governor’s Palace for taking me back in time to learn about colonial cooking. Foods on Display: • Pound Cake – true pound cake • Apple Fritters • Seasonal Stuffed Squash – breadcrumb stuffing • Virginia Ham • Collops of Rabbit • Carrots in the Dutch Fashion • Pigeon Au Pois • Pasties • Jellies and Spreads #visitwilliamsburg #partner
These breathtaking views are something that need t These breathtaking views are something that need to be experienced in person. While I was in the Pennsylvania Wilds, I stopped by the Kinzua Bridge State Park in the Allegheny National Forest to go out on the Skywalk. The Kinzua Bridge was once an engineering marvel affectionately known as the eighth wonder of the world and one of the tallest railroad bridges in the world. A tornado took it down in the early 2000s, leaving much of the bridge on the valley floor below. The Kinzua Bridge Skywalk is currently under renovation and the 2026 visiting season ends on October 31, 2026. There is a new sandwich shop in the Pittsburgh Sou There is a new sandwich shop in the Pittsburgh South Hills, @badamofamily Grocery & Sandwich Shop, and this is a welcome addition to the Dormont Neighborhood. I checked it out today with Jeremy from @discovertheburgh, and I think we both left quite impressed. The new shop opened next door to the Badamo’s Pizza, which moved to Dormont a couple of years ago. The shop features products from Italy, fresh-made cold-case salads and marinated goodies, lots of grab-and-go items like meatballs and lasagna, and, of course, fresh-made sandwiches. I got the Heartbeat meatball sandwich and the Godmother (Italian Combo 2). Both were great. The meatballs are giant. I discovered on my trip to @visitwilliamsburg, it’ I discovered on my trip to @visitwilliamsburg, it’s not just about colonial history, but the area has a thriving brewery scene! #partner I love checking out breweries and distilleries on a trip and I visited the five main breweries in Williamsburg, Virginia. These breweries all were rooted in wanting to bring traditional beer styles to Williamsburg, a place for people to gather and to support the local community. Each one is also doing something a little different that makes them so exciting to visit. Which one will you check out on your visit to Williamsburg? Williamsburg Breweries (in order of appearance): • @alewerks • @virginiabeerco • @billsburgbrewery • @frothymoonbrewhouse • @precariousbeer Note: These breweries are spread out across the Williamsburg area. This year’s One Bite One Day, a best bites of Pitt This year’s One Bite One Day, a best bites of Pittsburgh event benefiting @oneday_toremember was bigger and better than ever. It is one of my favorite events every year. I get to try so many amazing bites and try great cocktails all for a good cause. This year the premier food tasting event was at Rockwell Park in the East End and it was a fantastic venue. I had so many great bites this year I can’t even pick just one to say was my favorite. Each of these bites is paired with a craft cocktail. There is also a VIP bar with additional specialty drinks. One Day to Remember is a non-profit organization whose goal is to give families with a parent dealing with advanced-stage cancer the opportunity to make lasting, positive memories. One Day to Remember strives to provide a curated experience that is individualized for each family at no cost to them. Included in the special day, they send a professional photographer to capture the family activity and provide every family with a commemorative photobook. Does anyone else just completely forget to eat fru Does anyone else just completely forget to eat fruit and vegetables on a trip? I know I forget. I was on two road trips across Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and Virginia, totaling 16 days on the road. I noticed by the end that I was not eating a lot of fruit or vegetables. I decided to count how many times I ate either a fruit or a vegetable, and let’s just say I was pretty loose on what I counted. I’m Alex and I eat too much of everything except for fruit and vegetables while traveling. Follow @alexeatstoomuch to see all the savory and delicious foods I eat on my travels and if I ever eat a fruit or a vegetable on these trips. I’m counting something as a fruit or vegetable if it’s not a fried potato or onion, not French onion soup, not a pickle, not lettuce or tomato on a sandwich or burger, and not pie filling. There’s a separate counter for French fries and onion rings because I was served them so often as sides. When I go on trips, I’m going to eat the really cool and interesting foods. When I research where to eat or a destination makes a recommendation, often the restaurant is known for its burger or something fried or just an overall savory dish. So are you like me on trips and forget about eating fruits and vegetables? #travelfood #foodie #foodblogger #savory #eatingfortheinsta

Williamsburg, Virginia considers itself the pancake capital of the world with the most pancake houses per capita. You can even visit some of them and eat some pancakes on their Pancake Trail. For the festival every year, they have a Pancakes and Pajamas kickoff party with all you can eat pancakes, live music and activities including photos with festival mascot Short Stack. There was the Run for the Stacks 5K, which I watched as others worked up an appetite for their pancakes. The most exciting part was the World Pancake Eating Championship, where some of the top competitive eaters in the world, including current number one, Joey Chestnut, were trying to set the pancake eating world record.
