I was hosted this weekend by @ridgerunner_distille I was hosted this weekend by @ridgerunner_distillery & @christianklaywinery out in the @go_laurelhighlands. This family run winery & distillery makes for a great stop, day trip or overnight in the Laurel Highlands just minutes from Ohiopyle. They always have a bar at the distillery and a wine tasting room at the winery. They also have regular events like live music and vendors and food trucks. I spent the weekend tasting all their wines and spirits, seeing the property on a hayride, listening to music and meeting all the people who are their regulars and friends. They are also getting into the overnight business with rental properties near the winery and they are on Harvest Hosts for short term RV parking. I have lots of video to share from this visit soon. I was invited to preview the menu at @winstonscust I was invited to preview the menu at @winstonscustardpgh Grilled Eats and Frozen Treats in Millvale, just outside the city limits of Pittsburgh. This new spot is from my friends at @pghsandwichsociety. They are going for summer vibes with backyard barbecue classics and cold, refreshing snacks. They just started a soft open with mostly frozen custard, hot dogs, lemonade, and treats for dogs. However, they will have a full menu soon. I got to try everything, but the doggy treats. It was definitely reminiscent of the summer barbecue. I was invited to try out @sushi_tomo on McKnight R I was invited to try out @sushi_tomo on McKnight Road in Pittsburgh’s North Hills. We ended up eating a boatload of sushi. We seriously saw another table order that and thought that’s perfect for us. It was a great combination of sashimi, nigiri and rolls. However, that wasn’t all we got. We also had some appetizers, and I got a Japanese Whisky flight featuring a selection from their extensive collection. I definitely want to go back to try some of the ramen and Chinese dishes on the menu too. Thanks for having me Sushi Tomo. I don't eat often in @oakland_412 but I was hosted I don't eat often in @oakland_412 but I was hosted at @jolinascuisine for the Oakland Restaurant Week running May 10-16. I was excited to make my way to Pittsburgh Oakland Neighborhood to try another restaurant and this one didn't disappoint. They are running a restaurant week special which is a bowl with rice or mujaddara, gyro or chicken, hummus or baba ghannouj, and additional toppings and sauce. It also comes with a piece of baklava and a drink. These bowls aren't usually on the menu, but a good way to try a lot of different things they make in one dish. I was impressed by both the chicken and the gyro meat. The chicken is marinated in Mediterranean spices and the gyro meat is marinated after being cut from the cone. Both were so soft and packed with flavor. I also really liked the baklava, which was not too sweet and super flakey. I'm glad I got to try Jolina's and I am sure I'll be back there to try some of their other Mediterranean dishes. #pittsburgh #pittsburghfood #mediterraneanfood

I was invited to attend the @alleghenymtnmalt Sust I was invited to attend the @alleghenymtnmalt Sustainable Sip Off hosted by @sustainablepgh412 and @bitepgh. The beer tasting event took over @mikesbeerbar, featuring eleven local breweries. Each brewery created a beer using Allegheny Mountain Malt, made from barley grown in Westmoreland County and malted locally. Sustainable Pittsburgh created this event as part of their goal of encouraging social equity, environmental stewardship and economic prosperity into business and organizational decision making. Awards were handed out to the favorite beers of the evening. Congrats to all the breweries for creating a beer with sustainability in mind. It popped up in my memories that one year ago I wa It popped up in my memories that one year ago I was hosted by @visitgreenvillesc for a weekend getaway. This was my first hosted trip outside PA. At the time, they were promoting who easy it is to get to Greenville from Pittsburgh with the addition of a new @breezeairways flight from @pitairport twice a week. I had an amazing trip filled with great food, lots of time outdoors, touring museums and watching some minor league baseball. This trip was also the first time I really thought about becoming a content creator full time. I was supposed to be experiencing the trip and sharing, but I couldn't stop thinking about what my now former job and all the craziness happening. I realized I wasn't happy with that anymore and I wanted to experience life, make content and share it with everyone. So I'm truly grateful for this trip. I was invited to attend the @412foodrescue Fourth I was invited to attend the @412foodrescue Fourth and Feast dinner featuring dishes prepared with food rescued from the NFL Draft in Pittsburgh. It is estimated that sixty thousand pounds of unused food from the NFL Draft weekend were rescued by 412 Food Rescue. They are taking this food and preparing it into meals for distribution through their Good Food Project. During this dinner, there was a panel discussion moderated by @nataliebencivenga featuring 412 Food Rescue CEO Alyssa Cholodofsky and chefs and restaurateurs @jamilkabm and @dianne_de of @lilithpgh. They covered the topics of food insecurity, zero food waste in restaurants, and the potential positive and negative impacts the NFL Draft weekend had on the food scene in Pittsburgh. The meal consisted of 5 dishes: • Amuse-Bouche: A vibrant bite of cornbread delicately soaked in orange and clove syrup, available with or without crumbles of fried prosciutto • Salad: A refreshing medley of cucumber and celery, tossed in a cool, creamy dressing of yogurt and dill (gluten-free) • Pasta (Primavera): A celebration of the season: shell pasta tossed with spring vegetables, including summer squash and carrots, lightly sauteed in olive oil to highlight their natural flavors • Main entree: A comforting cabbage and chicken soup, simmered to perfection with rich, nourishing flavors in every spoonful (gluten-free) • Take-away dessert: Rice pudding subtly sweet with hints of almond (gluten-free) I also got to try a new craft n/a beer donated by @VirtueSignalBrewing, which is launching soon. I love fried chicken and desserts! Add in watching I love fried chicken and desserts! Add in watching the Pens game on a big screen and you’ve got a great night. I finally got to try @sugarbirdpgh chicken and donuts at the @plazaatnorthshore and watch a Pens playoff game while I was there. I ordered The Bird and Sugar Combo, which is 3 chicken tenders, fries, a donut and a dipping sauce. I got the SugarBird Sauce and a maple bacon donut. This was just the right combo for me. The tenders were great. They had thick breading, fried crispy and juicy on the inside. I also got some soft serve ice cream with hot fudge and cookie dough bites. They have lots of signature flavors and sundaes. Also great about this space is getting to watch the Pens game on the big screen in the plaza. I can see myself watching a bunch of Penguins, Pirates and Steelers games here. I was invited to start my #nfldraft2026 week at Ta I was invited to start my #nfldraft2026 week at Taste of the Draft, an event benefitting @genyouthnow, organized by @tasteofthenfl and hosted by PNC Bank. I was so grateful to be invited to this event. I learned a lot about GENYOUth from this event. They are a non-profit working to end student hungry, promote childhood physical activity and elevate student voices. This was an incredible event featuring food from over 20 Pittsburgh restaurants, live entertainment, remarks from prominent people, football related activities, and meet & greets with over 20 @Steelers and NFL greats. I spent 4 days running around to events, visiting local vendors selling food and goods, and checking out the cool experiences. The likelihood of me attending another NFL Draft is pretty low so I took advantage of spending as much time there as possible. I created a bunch of videos already about the experience. The @visitpa Playmakers Present the Great Pennsylvania Mascot Race as part of the NFL Draft festivities allowed us to see who was truly the fastest PA mascot. Swoop, Roc, The Nittany Lion and Steely McBeam competed against each other to see who was the fastest. No surprise to me as a Penn Stater, The Nittany Lion took the race with no issue! I can't wait to see what else Visit PA does to celebrate PA250.
