I just went to Las Vegas to eat lots of pizza, but while I was there, I found time for three cool non-food things I got to do off the Las Vegas Strip. I went to @omegamartusa, @thepunkrockmuseum, and @fremontstreet.

I went to the @sliceouthunger Las Vegas Pizza Tail I went to the @sliceouthunger Las Vegas Pizza Tailgate before the International Pizza Expo. For a donation, I was able to eat unlimited pizza for a little over an hour made by pizza makers from around the country. Slice Out Hunger is an organization that fights food insecurity and provides hunger relief by connecting pizzerias to needs in their community. The Slice Out Hunger Las Vegas Pizza Tailgate was a great way to start my @pizzaexpo experience with a lot of great pizza.

Today 4/18 is the last day to get this incredible Today 4/18 is the last day to get this incredible @communitykitchenpgh fish fry! I went last week and I can confidently say this is up there as one of the best in the city. The fish was huge. It was double battered and seasoned nicely. The tarter sauce was delicious and made in house too.

I've been a supporter of Community Kitchen for a long time. They provide culinary training to individuals regardless of their past or present. They offer training programs, transitional employment opportunities, apprenticeships, and job placement services that are designed to meet them where they are at. They also provide hungry relief to the community, and run catering, butchery and food truck programs.
I attended the 2025 International @pizzaexpo in La I attended the 2025 International @pizzaexpo in Las Vegas. You can see the full video over on YouTube. The link is in the profile. This event brings together pizza professionals around the world for all things pizza. Vendors, workshops, demos, seminars, competitions, and lots of pizza can be found at the expo. For years, I have been watching the Pittsburgh pizza community attend this multiday event that gathers pizza makers and vendors celebrating all things pizza. In talking to many of the Pittsburgh pizza community, they finally convinced me it was time to attend the Pizza Expo too. See what it’s like to participate as a food content creator and not a restaurant professional.

My last few visits I ate a bunch of different fried fish items good for this time of year. My favorite of them was the Catfish Po'Boy with sweet potato tots. The po'boy was their deep fried catfish, tossed in Old Bay on a soft hoagie roll with bang bang sauce. I liked it so much that when I went in for drinks another night we shared the Catfish Bites. The Warren also has a fantastic Fish and Chips.

I attended @pizzaexpo! It was a pizza filled few d I attended @pizzaexpo! It was a pizza filled few days learning about all things pizza. I saw demos, attended workshops, watched competitions and ate so many samples. PIzza Expo is a trade show, but I wanted to attend to see a side of the industry not typically shown by content creators and I wanted to support all of our great Pittsburgh based pizza makers while they were there demoing and competing.

And let me say, I'm so proud of all our Pittsburgh pizza makers. So many competed in competitions. @sliceonbroadway claimed Best Cheese Slice. @caliente_pizza claimed multiple awards including 1st place finishes in dough acrobatics and pizza triathlon and @ironbornpizza placing 3rd in non-traditional pizza. Even more competed and entered amazing pizzas and showed off skills. There was also representation at so many of the exhibitor booths as many Pittsburghers are ambassadors for the products they use.

I have so much more to recap in a blog and in videos. I can't wait to share more from this week.
I spent a weekend with a group of travel content c I spent a weekend with a group of travel content creators in Oconee County, South Carolina. @visitoconeesc hosted this year’s @southerntravelersexplore conference. I had a fantastic time meeting fellow creators, learning about travel content, and getting back out in nature. I have a slightly longer recap on YouTube.

Here are some of the things I got to do in Oconee County.
·       Hike in Sumter National Forest to see Brasstown Falls
·       Walk the trails in Chau Ram County Park to see Ramsey Falls and the Chauga River
·       Visit farms and event spaces like Chattooga Belle Farms, which features a store, café and distillery
·       Enjoy craft beverages at Keowee Brewing Company
·       Have dinner at Sole Grill & Sushi Bar
·       Attend events at Off the Alley at Nimmons Hall and McLadke Orchards

Things I wish I had time to do in Oconee County.
·       Go boating and fishing on one of the many lakes
·       Discover their revitalized downtown and go shopping

Southern Travelers Explore conference is an annual gathering of travel content creators in locations in the South to experience a new destination. This year, Visit Oconee volunteered to host. The conference features the opportunity to get familiar with that location to allow for the creation of new articles, blog posts and videos. We get to participate in educational activities about travel and content creation. There is also time to meet with other Destination Marketing Offices in attendance to plan future trips. Lastly, I got to meet so many new people who share my interests in food, travel and content creation.

On my recent trip to the @go_laurelhighlands in Pe On my recent trip to the @go_laurelhighlands in Pennsylvania, we started each day at a different coffee shop in the region. Go Laurel Highlands brought us to each of these coffee shops so we can get breakfast and caffeine before a full day of activities.
@brewedawakeningcafesoco in downtown Somerset is a great spot for specialty latte flights and a great breakfast sandwich or pastry.
@ohiopyle_coffee_company is in the center of the town of Ohiopyle and is an inexpensive way to fuel yourself up before a hike. I had a great coffee and one of the largest breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever eaten.
@silverhorsecoffee in Donegal features @standingwavecoffee. They make delicious breakfast pocket burritos and they are perfect before a day on the slopes.

This Chinese restaurant is the last remaining building of Pittsburgh's former Chinatown. I regularly get the General Tso Chicken and an egg roll. This conference gave me a great opportunity to meet other amazing travel writers and content creators in a beautiful location filled with lakes and waterfalls and small town charm. I also learned so much about sharing travel experiences, blogging, content trends and monetization. I'm so grateful for the new friends and connections I made. I have so much to share from this trip and so much work I need to do to put everything I learned into practice.
