I got the opportunity to try out @thestockpotpgh, a new #Pittsburgh South Hills soup delivery service. I do not eat soup very often so I was up for something different. I got a quart of wedding soup. It was loaded with meatballs, pieces of chicken, pasta and veggies. The best part was it's delivery only so the soup comes to you. Mine was still pretty hot when it arrived.

Me having soup is a rare, weird occurrence. I had to go back almost 2 years go find the last time I posted anything close to soup.

Now that I have your attention, another thing I've been working on at home is making a better cheeseburger. I've learned you really want to get a good sear and crust on the burger before flipping. I've also learned a cheese melting dome is important. I topped this with some cheddar, fried onions and bbq sauce. This might be one of the best burgers I've ever made myself. I also made some air fried zucchini sticks because balance.

Foodie Confession: I've never made my own poached eggs before today. I decided to make avocado toast, but I actually don't have bread at the moment so I used hash browns as my base and went with poached eggs instead of fried eggs. My breakfast was great, but I still think I need to practice. My eggs stuck to the bottom of my pot. Eventually I'll be an at home breakfast pro!

I finally got to try @stclairsocial_pgh. I went with the Fried Chicken Sandwich and their version of PB&J. The fried chicken was huge. It was soaked in buttermilk, coated in a thick flour batter and fried. It was delicious with the garlic aioli. The PB&J was an amazing appetizer. The pork belly was soft and crispy, the sourdough surprisingly soft and the raspberry sauce gave a nice sweet contrast. I can't wait to try more of the menu!
𝙏𝙖𝙘𝙤 𝙏𝙞𝙢𝙚!!! I did some #m 𝙏𝙖𝙘𝙤 𝙏𝙞𝙢𝙚!!!
I did some #mypghtakeout the other night from @lapalapapgh for a @pghrestaurantwk takeout menu. They were offering this amazing birria braised short rib tacos with a beef soup. These tacos were full of flavor and came with a nice smokey hot sauce. The dinner also came with a serving of flan which was a nice sweet way to top off what was such a savory meal.

Tonight I got takeout from @casbahpgh from one of my favorite special menu events, Festa di Pasta! They do a bunch of really different pasta dishes, many of which are not normally on the menu. I got the bucatini cacio e pepe, lamb rigatoni, gemelli prosciutto arrabbiata, and pork sugo mafaldine. However they probably wouldn't approve of me putting all 4 on one plate.

I got this incredible Reuben Rolls from @dive_pgh as part of my recent Takeout Partnership with them and @tenfoursocial. These were so good I think they need to be part of my Dive Bar order every time. They are such a great combination of two things I love, egg rolls and reuben sandwich.

𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗘𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗧𝗼𝗼 𝗠𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀! 🥞
I've had such a craving for pancakes lately. So I made pancakes. Problem was the recipe called for 4 pancakes but I might have read it wrong because the nutritional info says 8 pancakes. Either way that wasn't gonna stop me. 8 panckaes later I'm sitting on the couch feeling like a beached whale. But don't worry, I added blueberries so it would be a health meal.

So maybe I actually ate this @thevandalpgh & @alleghenyeats Fried Chicken Sandwich on Thursday. I participated in the first meal kit pickup for Allegheny Eats. This is a new program in whick by ordering a meal kit from local participating restaurants you also help support restaurant workers, restaurants and local farms during these times filled with shut downs. Meal kits can be ordered until midnight Tuesday for pickup Thursday. Industry members in need can order $0 meals for pickups on Wednesday. I was very happy to try out The Vandal fried chicken sandwich, which comes in separate packages and then you assemble at home. I like the thick breading on the chicken combined with the sweet hot honey. The kit came this time with chocolate chip cookies that were unbelievable!
𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘀! 𝗧 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘀! 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱!
Expanding on my partnership with @dive_pgh, I got this tasty Buffalo Chicken Quesadilla to snack on while watching some TV. These taste great, travel well as takeout, and look pretty good if you decide to put it on a plate when you get home. Plates aren't really required. Eating right from the container is ok too!
