I made another stop on my Dormont restaurant tour visiting the new @mikeandtonysgyros for takeout. I got the standard gyro and stuffed grape leaves. Both were fantastic and I was so full after. The remodeled space looked amazing too and I can't wait to hang out there.
𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗮𝗿 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱!
It's nice to get out in the sun and get back to some outdoor dining. I spent some time at @eatshadygrove this afternoon and enjoyed some Shady Sticks, chicken tenders, fried pickles and some beers.
𝗙𝗮𝗷𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘀! 𝗔𝘁 𝗔 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁!
I took advantage of the nice weather yesterday to get in some outdoor dining at @emilianospgh. I ordered fajitas which I don't think I've had at a restaurant in well over a year. My at home fajita making, although good, just didn't have the same sizzle and flavor. .

During Passover, as Jews we are suppose to give up bread and essentially foods with yeast. This we get stuck with matzo, an interpretation this is what unleavened bread should look and taste like. It's not very good. We try to find ways to fancy it up and make it taste better. So here I am making avocado "toast" with cream cheese and lox. To everyone trying to follow a Passover diet this week, I wish you an easy one.

This Fish Fry Friday I went with a Pittsburgh classic. I got the @eatnpark Deluxe Whale of a Cod Sandwich and it does not disappoint. It's massive. My stomach is full. The fish was tasty. The breading was super crispy. I'd definitely get this again.
𝗣𝗶𝘇𝘇𝗮 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆!
Not like pizza needs a specific night like some other foods. Tonight I tried out @lgpizzeria by @leogreta_. This was a nice NY style pizza with thick slices of pepperoni and a sweeter sauce.
𝗢𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻, 𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗧𝗮𝗰𝗼 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆!
Except I bought these the other day. I stopped in at @bull_river_taco on Washington Road while running an errand. I picked up some pork and chicken tacos for a quick lunch. I really like their bullseye sauce on the tacos.
𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗟 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵
Yesterday was the first time I got to use my new porch furniture with friends. @yinzhungry412 stopped by with some @mediterracafe sandwiches. I went with the Turkey sandwich on heartland grain with havarti, zhoug, lemon aioli, tomato & mesclun. This sandwich looks smaller than it is. The zhoug and lemon aioli were very tasty and quite different from most condiments. I'm also really excited for warmer weather to be back. Can't wait to get to eating more outside.
𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗮
I finally went grocery shopping yesterday and saw ahi tuna steaks on sale. I love tuna but don't make it very often at home. I think what I love most it's like a tender, less savory version of a steak that almost melts in your mouth. I made up a soy, honey & sesame marinade and then seared each side for about 2 minutes.
𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 C̶h̶i̶c̶k̶e̶n̶ 𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆!!!
I eat a lot of Friday chicken. I trust places that specialize in fried chicken to also make a killer fried fish. I tried out @coopdevillepgh for their fish and it was fantastic. It has a nice thick batter coating and flakey fish. I would even consider eating this on a non-Lent Friday. Not that I have to worry about the whole no meat on Fridays thing.
