I ate one of the best meals ever at @revivalkitche

I ate one of the best meals ever at @revivalkitchen in Reedsville. The restaurant is in Central Pennsylvania, just outside Lewistown and about 30 minutes from State College. They are a 26-seat seasonal restaurant operating from April to October, making Reedsville a dining destination. Chef Quintin Wicks is a Lewistown native who returned to the area with to create this premier culinary experience with business partner Liz. Their dishes feature locally sourced ingredients to create beautiful and delicious farm-to-table tasting menus. Each month, the menu changes using the freshest items from the local farms. I got the opportunity to eat there in September when I was in town for Goose Day with the @juniatarivervalley. My meal was an incredible five courses. The whole menu from my visit is below. Reservations for Revival Kitchen open up for the entire season at once and they will go fast. It’s worth making a reservation if you know you’ll be in the area.

@pghsandwichsociety at @strangerootsbeer in Millvale now has a Wing Night on Thursdays. You can get 12 wings for $12. I gave them a visit to try out the wings and get a few beers. I got the Buffalo sauce and the CharBQ wings. I really liked the CharBQ wings, which are double cooked in the broiler to give them a nice char and caramelization. They are served with celery, carrots and blue cheese. I love a wing night and this just gives me another reason to visit my friends at Pittsburgh Sandwich Society and Strange Roots.

I was invited to try @kyuramen.pittsburgh which just opened in East Liberty. I got to taste many of the items now available on the menu including many appetizers, a couple of bowls of ramen, an omurice omelet and a few desserts. The ramen was very good with flavorful broth, lots of ramen noodles, and delicious chashu pork, and a 7 minute egg. I was also so excited to try Omurice, the fluffy omelet served over fried rice. I think this is the first restaurant to have it in Pittsburgh. I can’t wait to eat again and Kyuramen.

I was able to attend the opening evening of @onebyspork. Unlike anything I've had in Pittsburgh, @sporkpgh transformed into One by Spork, a high-end tasting dinner with incredibly innovative dishes. This was one of the most incredible dining experiences I have had in Pittsburgh. It includes eight courses, welcome bites, a drink pairing, and desserts. Each course was visually appealing, featuring locally sourced ingredients, and made with techniques and equipment in their open kitchen and food lab. We watched many of the dishes be prepared or completed and assembled right in front of us. This was truly an amazing experience and I was glad we got to be there for their first dinner service. This experience also comes at a cost higher than anything before in Pittsburgh at $275 before tax and gratuity, but I would say it is worth it for so many courses and this incredible food. Reservations with a deposit are required. Thanks to @karen.hoang for snagging the reservation and @sopheating & @mike.jams for joining on this incredible dinner.

On my quick trip to @visit_hersheyharrisburg the other week, I stopped in at @troegs_hershey for lunch and some beers. @troegsbeer is an incredible brewery and a great visit. They have lots of great dark and barrel aged beers on tap during this time of year. I definitely returned home with many bottles. Their Snack Bar also features some of the best food I've eaten at a brewery. I ordered the Chicken and Biscuit and I think it was the best confit chicken I've eaten.

I went to Supper at @oakhillpgh in Pittsburgh’s Brookline. I’ve been wanting to give this new menu a try since they changed from breakfast and lunch back to dinner service. The new menu only had four items in each section, so we ordered everything for the table and I’m so glad we did. Everything was fantastic. We got four well-crafted mocktails. We ordered all four starters, of which the Stew made with pork and root vegetables was my favorite. We enjoyed all four of the mains, of which the Lamb Chops were my favorite as they were cooked perfectly and seasoned so well. We finished with both of the desserts. Oak Hill Post continues to impress and you should give them a visit for Supper.

Have you seen the ARUROA holiday light display in

Have you seen the ARUROA holiday light display in Mellon Square park downtown? @pittsburghparks has curated this light display by @shiftworkspgh and @joshuachallenice of a radiant wave of lights. The floating diamonds illuminated in different color lights create different patterns and hues as the wind shifts. This is on display only a little while longer with the final Saturday in the Square on December 28 with pop up shops, free hot chocolate, live performances and free holiday portraits. See the Pittsburgh Parks website for more details.

I got to see the ARUROA lights when doing a fun photo shoot and getting great winter portraits. Over the years, I've had to learn to try to be more relaxed in front of the camera. I still have to be reminded sometimes not to had a fake smile. But honestly, it was so much fun to get to do something like this and I'm so happy with how these turned out.

It's too bad I don't send out holiday cards because I got photos at the Governor's Residence that would have been perfect for a card. While I was there, I took the opportunity to get some great photos of myself, photos with @governorshapiro and photos with other great content creators. Governor Shapiro is seriously one of the nicest and most well spoken people I've met. It was an honor to be at the residence for a holiday party.
It was also such a great opportunity to meet other creators. Some local Pittsburgh people I might already know or just met for the first time. Some people from around the rest of Pennsylvania. Even a creator from NYC I've followed forever.
I'm so thankful for these great opportunities I get to attend. When I started this account years ago, I was really just hoping to eat good food and meet people. I never thought I'd be attending events like this. I can't wait for more adventures and meeting more people.

My last trip to @happyvalleypa, in partnership wit

My last trip to @happyvalleypa, in partnership with Happy Valley Adventure Bureau, brought me to the @palmermuseumofart at Penn State and @pennstatearboretum. The museum just moved into a beautiful new start of the art building at The Arboretum at Penn State. This is the largest art museum collection between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, containing almost 11,000 objects. The collection features artwork from cultures around the world and special exhibits like artwork created in Pennsylvania. Visiting this incredible museum is free, but a donation is suggested. I rarely visited the old museum when I was a student. This new one is so bright and welcoming. The Arboretum at Penn State is 10 acres of beautiful gardens, sculptures and sitting areas to walk through and enjoy. There is a wide range of plants providing something different to see at all times of the year. The Arboretum is one of my favorite places on campus. I stop at The Arboretum on almost every trip I make to Happy Valley and you should too. It’s a spot on campus I wish existed when I was a student. I would have spent so much time in the gardens because they are so beautiful and tranquil.

Just thinking on this #TBT of this amazing meal I had at The @thetavernnewwilmington. @visitlawrencecounty told me I had to come up to try it out and I was more than happy to make the short one hour drive from Pittsburgh. The Tavern has been around since the 1930s and recently saw a renovation under new owners. This restaurant features local ingredients to create fantastic farm-to-table dishes. They kept some menu items and décor as a homage to the original restaurant but made lots of great updates to give it a more modern feel. I’m really going to have to make another drive up so I can eat so many more things I didn’t get to try this time.

• Korean Sticky Ribs - Baby back pork ribs, Korean BBQ sauce, scallions, sesame seeds
• Smoked Trout Rillette - Smoked steelhead trout, créme fraiche, homemade flatbread, preserved Meyer lemons, crispy capers

I attended a holiday brunch at the Pennsylvania Go

I attended a holiday brunch at the Pennsylvania Governor’s Residence with other content creators who have worked with Pennsylvania @governorshapiro to get out the word about great accomplishments in Pennsylvania this year. This was an amazing experience. We got to explore the first level of the residence decorated for the holidays. We ate a great spread of brunch bites. This was a fantastic opportunity to meet other content creators. I met people who I just discovered this year through exploring Pennsylvania and others who I have followed for a decade and I was incredibly surprised to see at the event.

I’m so grateful to Governor Shapiro and his team for this invitation and experience. Josh is such a great speaker and Pennsylvania’s government has accomplished so much this year. In case you missed it, earlier this year, I got to film a quick video with Governor Shapiro when he was in Pittsburgh to announce Pennsylvania’s investment in Downtown Pittsburgh. I’m just one of many creators with whom he has made videos over the course of the year. He and his team have embraced social media to inform people about what is happening in Pennsylvania. I can’t thank him and his team enough for being included in the group he has filmed with. I’m looking forward to sharing more of the great accomplishments in Pennsylvania in the years to come.

Last year’s holiday pop-up bar newcomer, @sippinsantapgh is back in Downtown Pittsburgh for a second year. Open every night through New Year’s Eve, this tropical holiday bar from the same people as Miracle features tiki style drinks and a warmer weather vibe. Sippin Santa, just like its neighbor popup, Miracle is always a good time staffed by some of Pittsburgh’s best bartenders. Sippin Santa, just like Miracle, donates its proceeds to local charities, giving me another reason to visit often.

Another reason why Sippin Santa is one of the best of the holiday bars is that a large portion of proceeds are donated to local charities. Each year they partner with different charities that either have a personal connection to the members of the Sippin Santa team or make a significant impact in Pittsburgh. As always, remember don’t be a grinch at these bars. And don’t steal the glassware. Most of it can be purchased. They have to spend a lot on these glasses and if you steal them then others do not get to enjoy drinks in them. Also if you buy one you get a nice clean glass.

I partnered with @samueladamsbeer American Light to get dinner and a beer in Pittsburgh and to show how you can pair their new easy-drinking light beer with your meal. I ate at @theurbantap in Shadyside, which has great food, and Samuel Adams American Light is on tap. It’s great that a brewer like Samuel Adams is making a light beer as it will still be flavorful but not heavy to drink. It was an easy decision for me to pair Sam Adams American Light with Urban Tap’s Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. Samuel Adams American Light is a crisp, refreshing light beer that is easy to drink and goes down smooth, so it was the perfect beer to cool me down from the spicy heat of the sandwich. Last month, I spent another fantastic weekend in Happy Valley thanks to the @happyvalleypa. If you didn’t know, I spent four years of my life in State College and love any opportunity to come back to Happy Valley to eat and explore. This trip was filled with lots of new activities and some that I haven’t done in ages.

Food and Drink:
• I had lunch at the new @tripletts_bar at the newly renovated @nittanylioninn
• I had dinner at @pinegrovehall. They are an incredible farm to table restaurant which also has regular live music.
• I had Sunday brunch at @gigissoutherntable. This restaurant brings amazing Southern style cooking to Happy Valley.
• I checked out @boalcitybrewing. They are located in the middle of nature just on the edge of Rothrock State Forest.
• I stopped at @therepublicgamblemill. I discovered this gem last year and try to stop in when I'm in Bellefonte.

New Activities:
• Bellefonte Under the Lights – An annual event which is an outdoor progressive dinner featuring many restaurants of Bellefonte and Central Pennsylvania. It’s the main fundraiser for @downtownbellefonte.
• I visited the new @palmermuseumofart. The museum just moved into a state of the art building that is bright and open. The museum houses almost 11,000 pieces of artwork.

Repeat Activities:
• I walked around the @pennstatearboretum. It is one of my favorite spots on campus, and I wish it existed when I was a student. The gardens and sitting areas are beautiful and relaxing.
• I hiked Mt. Nittany with @torytalkstrails and @brittaroundtown. It is an intense hike up to the top, but once up there, the views of Happy Valley are amazing.

I was asked by @visitlawrencecounty to have dinner at @thetavernnewwilmington in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, just an hour north of Pittsburgh. This restaurant features local ingredients to create fantastic farm-to-table dishes. The Tavern has been around since the 1930s and recently saw a renovation under new owners. The new version of the Tavern is beautifully decorated, retaining some of the original woodwork and artwork but adding modern touches like improved seating, an elevator, and new restrooms. I got the opportunity to try many of the dishes and drinks on the menu. Everything was amazing, and I wish I could have eaten so much more because the menu looks so good.

Ritual House in Downtown Pittsburgh invited me to

Ritual House in Downtown Pittsburgh invited me to have dinner in their new Lotus Room. @ritualhousepgh has become one of my favorite restaurants. I’ve always had good meals at Ritual House, but I feel like recently everything I’ve eaten there has just been amazing. The new Lotus Room, located upstairs, is a really cool space great for private events and quieter dinners. I loved the lighted mirrors in the walls and the window overlooking the Union Trust Building lobby. I started with some of my favorite appetizers like Fried Green Tomatoes and Bruleed Oranges. The highlight of the meal was the evening special of Roast Filet with vegetables, which was tender and delicious. I finished dinner with a new dessert, the Mocha Latte Cup, which is such an amazing combination of different types of sweets.
